Engineer - Transporation Manager


Garrett joined CJW after six years with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Southwest District, where he developed expertise in transportation engineering. A registered professional engineer, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2018. He began his career at MoDOT as a designer, focusing on sidewalk, overlay, and auxiliary lane projects. 

Garrett then served as a Project Engineer on the I-44 Project Bridge Rebuild Design-Build team, playing a key role in the replacement and rehabilitation of 19 bridges along the corridor. This position provided him with valuable experience in site inspection, design review, temporary traffic control planning, and contract administration. 

In 2021, Garrett transitioned to Transportation Project Designer, where he administered federal funds for Local Public Agency (LPA) transportation projects, including Transportation Alternatives, Surface Transportation Block Grants, and Off-System Bridge Replacement & Rehabilitation. During this period, he gained a comprehensive understanding of the Federal Highway Administration’s LPA process, overseeing the programming, design, environmental review, and bid award stages of over 100 federal aid projects. 

Throughout his tenure with CJW, Garrett has contributed to various transportation initiatives, including Transportation Alternative Projects for Branson West, Crane & Clinton, the Branson Transportation Master Plan and the Joplin Area Transportation Safety Action Plan (SS4A), demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and outstanding client service. Recently, Garrett was promoted to Transportation Manager.
