Engineer


Garrett recently joined CJW after six years with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Southwest District, where he held various roles that honed his expertise in civil engineering. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2018, Garrett began his career at MoDOT as a designer, focusing on sidewalk, overlay, and auxiliary lane projects.
He subsequently became a Project Engineer on the I-44 Project Bridge Rebuild Design-Build team, where he played a key role in the replacement and rehabilitation of 19 bridges along the I-44 corridor. This position provided him with valuable experience in site inspection, design review, temporary traffic control planning, and contract administration.
In 2021, Garrett transitioned to his final role at MoDOT, where he managed all federal funding for local agencies and coordinated development plan reviews. Over three years, he gained a comprehensive understanding of the Federal Highway Administration’s Local Public Agency (FHWA LPA) process, overseeing the programming, design, environmental review, and bid award stages of over 100 federal aid projects.
As the Plan Review Coordinator, Garrett ensured compliance with MoDOT policies across various submissions, including development plans, transportation impact studies, public improvement plans, and stormwater designs. His diverse experience and commitment to excellence make him a valuable asset to CJW.
